Rider Agreement Summary
You are an independent contractor
You are not an employee of Swoot. You choose when to go online, which deliveries to accept, and you are free to work for other platforms. Since 17 August 2026, Australian law also guarantees you a minimum earnings floor for your engaged time, which we explain in full on the compliance page.
Eligibility
- Full Australian driver licence, current and valid
- Your own vehicle, registered and roadworthy
- Insurance covering delivery use specifically. We check the policy wording, not just that a policy exists
- A valid ABN
- Right to work in Australia, checked through VEVO before your first shift
- 18 years or older
If you are in Australia under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility scheme, you are generally tied to your approved employer and cannot take other paid work. Please confirm your visa conditions before applying. We will ask about this during onboarding.
Pay
You are paid at least the statutory floor for every engaged hour, by vehicle class, topped up weekly if needed. Tips are 100% yours and never reduce a top-up. Full detail is on the compliance page.
Insurance
Swoot provides personal accident insurance while you are working, as required by law. Your own vehicle insurance remains your responsibility.
Deliveries may be batched
To keep the pay floor sustainable in a small service area, deliveries are sometimes offered as a batch of two or three, picked up in one run rather than one at a time. You will always see the full batch, every stop, and the estimated pay, before you accept.
Records and disputes
You can request your engaged time and earnings records at any time through the app. If something looks wrong, raise it with us and we will respond in writing. Deactivation disputes are handled separately, under the Fair Work Act, and you can also contact the Fair Work Ombudsman directly.
Leaving
You may stop working for Swoot at any time, with no notice required and no penalty.
